Modern Renaissance Invitations

My latest Custom Couture Invitations for Des and Julian reflected a Modern Renaissance Theme. These 5x7 top folded invitations were printed on a gorgeous metallic pearl stock. Each invitation was accompanied with three insert cards (a Map to the venue, RSVP card and Gift Registry). The final pieces were delivered in dark chocolate parchment envelopes, hand addressed with gold leaf ink.

New Art Pieces

I'm back in art making mode. I've been experimenting with various methods of working with resin the past year and I FINALLY have the technique down! The resin looks just like glass.

See the new pieces at this years Park City Art's Festival on August 5, 6 and 7! All pieces are made of inlaid vintage books with a clear .25 inch resin surface. Sides and edges are accented with guilded gold leafing.

Just a taste of one of the most adventurous photos shoots to date... underwater! The final invitations are going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to send them out soon so I can show you what I've been up to.

a country wedding

alexa and julio had a beautiful country themed wedding at the brookside equestrian center in walnut california. here's a preview of some of the shots of the day. click on the images below to view larger.

bon iver's much overdue self titled album came out yesterday.  I drove up the canyons last night with a friend to give it a listen and well — I think it just might be perfect. well done juston vernon. well done.
This is going to be the creative soundtrack and definitive music for the pieces that come out of the next two months.

JuMo Dance

Molly Beardmore Heller and Juan Aldape, the choreographers+dancers+VISION behind Jumo Dance have invited me to a private rehearsal and photoshoot tomorrow night - just before Molly ventures off to New York City next week to make her niche in the NYC scene. As artists we all have an innate need for outlet and personal expression. Whether that be through movement, music, visuals, words - they're all different and equally relevant ways we express ourselves. I have such a respect and admiration for for the control and training involved in what these two do. The pair have developed such a unique and evocative style - I can't wait to see them do their thing and get some killer shots.

derek and alexia

My good friends Derek and Alexia tied the knot a couple weeks ago.  What a gorgeous wedding! Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne, and wisked away in private gondolas to the mountains above the Canyons Resort in Park City. They said their vows on a bridge over a mountain stream. Not a detail was overlooked - and in typical Alexia style ... all elements were beautifully hued in shades of silver and pink. The ceremony was followed by a delicious Prime Rib Dinner. And best of all — dancing outside with an amazing group of friends in the cool mountains long into the night. What an event!  I was off duty for the day :) — here's a couple shots from the ceremony.  (click individually to see in detail)

 

the Bryants say i do

I took a more photo journalistic approach with the Bryant's wedding - I'm really digging on the emotion that comes through on the high contrast black and white shots and more candid shots. Here's a few of my favorites.
